FRIDAY
5 P.M – YOURS TRULY KLOOF
Arguably one of the most hipster and busiest bars in Cape Town, Yours Truly has the most incredible ambiance with indoor plants providing you with good vibes. While enjoying your gourmet sandwich and coffee, observe the fashion parade that goes on around you, as hip Capetonians come to be seen and enjoy that after work beverage.
After you’ve filled your tummy and soaked in some of the beauty, head to the upstairs seating deck, locally known as “Up Yours”, for a live DJ set and a glass of their house wine or craft beer to kick off the evening.
10 P.M – THE HOUSE OF MACHINES
As soon as things start winding down at Yours Truly, it will be time to make your next move – because remember, the clock’s ticking. One of the city’s edgiest coffee spots, bike shop and bar The House of Machines should be next on your list.
At night, the bar comes to life, offering a handcrafted selection of spirits, craft beers, and small batch barrel aged cocktails. As if that’s not epic enough, they have live music that creates a comfortable and intimate listening space for your pleasure.
SATURDAY
8 A.M – PARKRUN
After an epic and eventful evening, you’re going to want to sleep in a bit. But don’t fall for the trap! Because remember, the clock’s ticking.
Get on up and join one of the free weekly 5km running events hosted by Parkrun. Multiple runs take place across Cape Town on Saturday mornings – Green Point Park, Rondebosch Common, Century City, Constantia Greenbelt, Mitchells Plain, Zandvlei, Bellville, Fish Hoek, Durbanville, Bridgetown, Hout Bay and Big Bay.
The race is timed for those who like a challenge, and encourages people in communities to run and jog together no matter what level they may be on.
Enjoy Cape Town’s beautiful parks while getting in a good workout.
10 A.M – LOADING BAY
By now, the hunger pangs will have set in and you’ll want to fuel up!
Make your way to Loading Bay for your morning fuel. The menu is environmentally and sustainably conscious and offers variety to suit all tastes.
Loading Bay is located in the hip de Waterkant area and the building features a sleek glass aesthetic that makes it airy and allows for lots of natural light to pour in. It feels laid-back and semi-casual, so it is the perfect spot for an easy morning.
12 P.M – ORANJEZICHT MARKET
Cape Town is famous for the Old Biscuit Mill Markets, but we’ve got another absolute gem that is our favourit. Get a dose of creativity, culture and cuisine at the Oranjezicht Market, a community farmers-style market for independent local farmers and artisanal food producers. Don’t let the name deceive you – it is actually located in Granger Bay, near the Waterfront, but all the natural produce comes from a city farm located in Oranjezicht.
This market is a foodie’s heaven on earth – with many brunch and lunch options being on offer. Go shopping for fresh-from-the-patch veggies and herbs, fruit, bread, organic dairy products, free-range eggs, raw honey, muesli, and ethically sourced meats and seafood. Oh, and you can also buy edible plants and seedlings!
4 P.M – CAPE POINT VINEYARDS
It’s wine o’ clock!
Now that you’ve experienced Cape Town’s artistic offerings, it’s time to find out why our wine estates win awards. And the only way to do that, thank the Gods, is by drinking wine – lots of it.
Cape Point Vineyards, located in Noordhoek in the Cape Point Peninsula close to the ancient soils of the Table Mountain Range will hook you up with a visual spectacle and tutored wine tastings paired with a glorious sunset over the Atlantic Ocean for an unforgettable experience. Check out our Urban Safari tour – which includes a wine tasting at this spectacular venue.
7 P.M – KLOOF STREET HOUSE
Ok, so you’ve experienced a breath-taking sunset, consumed copious amounts of award winning wine and strolled through vineyards fit for the kings and queens of Game of Thrones’ Seven Kingdoms. What’s next?
Make your way to Kloof Street House and have some dinner because living on liquid grapes is not very kiff.
They are known for their sharing dishes that offer a combination of flavours crafted specifically for friends and family with joint culinary cravings.
Keep in mind that Kloof Street House is more than just a restaurant, it has a bunch of quirky, interesting rooms that need exploring. So get to it! Oh and make sure you try out their Madagascar Martini – you can thank us later ;).
10 P.M – HANK’S
With only 19 hours left, you’ll regret not hitting Hank’s which is situated on the vibrant Bree Street in Cape Town’s CBD. This almost underground-like Whiskey bar that has a range from all around the world, plus craft beers on tap and various DJ’s showcasing their talents!
Hank’s is the perfect spot to cram in some more of Cape Town’s night life and entertainment scene before your weekend is up!
SUNDAY
9 A.M – ALARM CLOCK RINGS
**NOPE — SNOOZE — BACK TO BED**
11 A.M – CLIFTON BEACH
There is perhaps no better hangover cure than heading down to Clifton Beach for a dip in the freezing cold Atlantic. Not only does it sort out your hangover, but it provides you with plenty of eye-candy both in the human and mother nature variety to help ease the pain of your headache.
2 P.M – CLARKE’S BAR AND DINING ROOM
Your head is pounding from the night before, so we don’t blame that you haven’t done much today. That’s cool, you’ve checked out some epic places and seen some things the last few days so we get it.
But the fun’s not over yet, Cape Town’s most beloved breakfast, brunch, lunch and whatever else you want spot is calling your name. Clarke’s has a cult-like, superfan following of the coolest humans ready to make sure you enjoy your last couple of hours in this city.
Whether you are in the mood for a mean beef burger, cheesy fries or buttery buns, Clarke’s is there for you. If you are a firm believer of the ‘hair of the dog’ method of sorting out your hangover, Clarke’s has a beautiful selection of wines, craft beers or mimosas to choose from.
4 P.M – ZEITZ MOCAA
Before we see you off, you absolutely have to check out The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa which houses the largest collection of contemporary African art on the continent and is the only museum of its kind in Africa.
Oh, and the building’s architecture will have you drooling. Promise.
See you next time!
